Know someone planning to divorce? Have them update their Will, Powers of Attorney, and beneficiary designations PRIOR to filing. If they don’t, most courts will enjoin them from doing so after filing.

Chances are that if you don’t want to be married to the other person, you wouldn’t want to leave all of your property to them if you died pending divorce.  You certainly wouldn’t want them making your medical and financial decisions if you were incapacitated!
